Grass Widow
“The San Fran phenom Grass Widow,” as the New Yorker dubs this post-punk band, “inspires as its pastoral harmonies float effortlessly over trellises of spindly guitars.”
Grass Widow–Hannah Lew (bass, vocals), Raven Mahon (guitar, vocals), and Lillian Maring, (drums, vocals) write their hypnotic layered melodies collaboratively. Their haunting songs, rich in metaphor and couched in reference and allusion, are mined from the personal narratives of each. Vox duties shared equally all around complete the overall sensibility. Grass Widow has no front person but offers a fresh musical experience not based on celebrity or spectacle. Since their formation, in line with these principles, they have maintained their objective of playing age and gender-inclusive shows.
Grass Widow formed in 2007 and toured the US the following summer. Their first release came as a S/T LP on San Francisco’s Make A Mess Records in 2009, followed by a 12 inch EP on Captured Tracks and their 2nd full-length, Past Time, which came out in 2010 on Kill Rock Stars. The band toured Europe, the UK and China in 2010 and started their own record label, HLR.
In addition to The New Yorker, Grass Widow has been featured in Yeti Magazine, Nylon, ArtForum, and The New York Times, among other publications.

“PC WORSHIP are a self-proclaimed ‘mutant soul band’ that skirts in and out of musical generalization and re-focuses creative energy on human psychosis and regenerating pieces based on varied human emotions / interactions. As a result PC Worship ventures amicably through mutated third stream folk, grunge and punk tendencies that are dually inspired by written pop songs and ambivalent free form nuclear jazz. Often time instrumentation is changed or warped based on the pool of about a dozen musicians whom mostly all live together in a warehouse in Bushwick, Brooklyn, NY called Le Wallet, where at any given time a different assortment crawls out of their cave to rip what has been dubbed music of the second “Stone Age”. ”

The idea consists of the following but is not limited to these sentiments:
Tearing through skate shoes as the cost of progressing as a skateboarder.
Being so into something and then not.
Stationary objects you shove off of while making your way through your life.
Stationary objects that let you know you’re moving.
Fashion and function.
