Sarah Donner meets live music in Boone

Cat rescuer, DIY-er, artist, and musician touring the country this summer

Indie folk/pop musician Sarah Donner is on tour this summer, heading across the country from New Jersey to California, up to Canada, and then back across the US. Sarah will bring her strong vocals and unique songwriting to Boone, NC on August 11th, where she will be playing a show at Galileo’s at 7 pm. The “Sarah Donner and the Sleepy Kitten” video and “The Motherf**cking Pterodactyl Song” which was co-written with The Oatmeal catapulted Sarah into weblebrity status with over a million views on YouTube alone. Her music has been featured on Conan O’Brien’s blog, NPR, and CBS News. She is currently working on a new record with producer Owen Lewis, who has worked with artists such as Katy Perry, Lady Gaga, and Snow Patrol. While on tour Sarah will be promoting her DIY record, The Rogue Sessions, which consists of acoustic renditions from her previous four albums as well as some new songs.

Last year’s BHCS generated, literally, an entire truck bed filled with non-perishable food items, and close to $300 for the Hunger and Health Coalition. This fall…It’s back! Get your friends together, dress up in the skins of your favorite band, practice practice practice and play your favorite unoriginals to benefit the Hunger Coalition.

Here are some preliminary details:

Bring at least 3 canned goods to contribute, or $5 to get through the door. Dress up! (but don’t sling fake blood everywhere, be more creative than that). Bring your friends and have a blast because Halloween is the best holiday ever.
